Vakgroep

Onze pathologen verrichten cytologisch, histologisch en postmortaal (obductie) onderzoek voor huisartsen en specialisten en nemen deel aan klinische besprekingen in de verschillende ziekenhuizen. Ook verrichten zij op aanvraag peroperatief onderzoek (vriescoupe) voor de snijdende specialisten.

Klinische pathologie is een zeer breed vakgebied en om een optimale kwaliteit te kunnen leveren hebben de pathologen zich gespecialiseerd in één of meerdere deelgebieden (subspecialisaties).

Voor de Pathologie-diagnostiek maken we gebruik van moderne immunohistochemische en moleculair diagnostische technieken. Als het nodig is, doen we dit in samenwerking met het UMCG.

In geval van een specifiek onderzoek van zeldzame of ingewikkelde diagnostische casus, sturen we het onderzoeksmateriaal op naar een landelijk of internationaal expertisecentrum voor een expertconsult.
